KNOSSOS PALACE-ARCHAEOLOGICAL MUSEUM (4 hrs)
After a short drive through the town of Heraklion, arrive at Knossos excavations, which revealed a civilization dating back to 4000 BC, when a great empire flourished on the island of Crete. Based on the wealth of artifacts that were found, Evans theorized that this was the site of the ancient Minoan Kingdom. Continue with a visit to the archaeological museum which houses the treasures from the findings of Knossos, Phaestos, Zakros and other Cretan cities.
CRETAQUARIUM (4 hrs)
Visit one of the largest and most contemporary aquariums in Europe, which first opened its doors in December 2005. It presents species and ecosystems of the Mediterranean, a sea of unique biodiversity that gave birth to ancient civilizations. Visitors will be offered a unique opportunity to explore the magnificent Mediterranean Sea world.
KNOSSOS PALACE–ARCHANES VILLAGE (4 1/2 hrs)
After a short drive through the town of Heraklion, arrive at Knossos excavations, which revealed a civilization dating back to 4000 BC, when a great empire flourished on the island of Crete. Based on the wealth of artifacts that were found, Evans theorized that this was the site of the ancient Minoan Kingdom. Drive to the traditional village of Archanes, the second best restored settlement in Europe. Enjoy a walk through the stone-paved streets and have a coffee at one of the attractive cafes in the beautiful square.

Heraklion
