The Biblical City Of Corinth

Friday 27 June
Our morning excursion out of Athens takes us by the Saronic Gulf, where in 480 BC, the course of history was changed! The small Grecian fleet managed to defeat the enormously powerful armada of the Persians. From here, we arrive at ancient Corinth (Acts 18:1-18) via the historic Corinthian Canal. It was to this megalopolis where the apostle Paul came and worked, established a thriving church, subsequently sending two of his epistles now part of the New Testament I and II Corinthians. Here, we see all of the sites associated with his ministry: the Agora, the Temple of Apollo, the Roman Odeon, the Bema and Gallio’s Seat. After the visit the small local archaeological museum, we return to the hotel in Athens. It was the harbor of Corinth on the Saronic Gulf, where Paul sailed for Ephesus (Acts 18:18). Return to our hotel in Athens.

1 Day Cruise To Greek Islands Hydra Poros And Aegina

Saturday 28 June
Enjoy a one-day cruise to 3 different islands in the Saronic Gulf, including a buffet lunch served on board and round-trip transfers by bus. Set sail at 8:00 a.m. from the port. The first stop is Hydra, a fashionable artists' colony, retreat of intellectuals and a favorite film location. The amphitheatrical town rings the colorful harbor with well-preserved seamerchant family mansions. We have time for a leisurely stroll, some shopping or swimming (weather and sea permitting). Buffet lunch on board. From here our voyage continues to Poros where the first naval arsenal of independent Greece was established. Poros provides delightful scenery marked by the low pine-wooded hills. Our last port of call is Aegina, an attractive and tranquil resort island. Here we can either join the optional guided excursion to the Temple of Aphaia; one of the finest and best preserved of Greek temples, or walk leisurely around the harbor and browse in small gift shops. Return back to Marina Flisvos around 7:00 p.m. Bus transfer to the hotel.
