Assisi and Rome

DAY 1: ROME
Arrive at Rome Airport, meet with our representative and transfer to the hotel. En route enjoy a panoramic city tour of Rome. View Piazza Della Repubblica, Via Nazionale, Piazza Venezia, Via Dei Fori Imperiali Romani, Capitol Hill, Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, Circus Maximus, Avetine Hill and St. Paul’s Gate. Check-in at the hotel and enjoy rest of the day at your leisure.

DAY 2: ROME
In the morning we visit St. Mary Major Basilica and Basilica of St. John in Lateran. After some free time for lunch, we will visit St. Paul Outside the Walls, Via Appia and the Catacombs. Return to the hotel late afternoon and enjoy overnight stay.

DAY 3: PAPAL AUDIENCE AND VATICAN (MUST BE ON WEDNESDAY)
Transfer to St. Peter’s Square for the Holy Father’s General Audience and Blessing.Proceed to visit the Vatican Museums including the Sistine Chapel. Visit St. Peter’s Basilica built on the site where Peter was martyred. The construction of the church began in 1506 and was completed in 1626. St. Peter is buried here along with many other popes.

DAY 4: ROME – CASCIA - ASSISI
Check-out and depart for Cascia to visit the Basilica Santa Rita da Cascia, view the body of St. Rita in the chapel, and then see the Eucharistic Miracle in the nearby minor Basilica. Afterward, we will proceed to the Convent of St. Rita, to see her relics. Continue to Assisi where we visit the Basilica di Santa Maria degli Angeli, much venerated as the place of St. Francis' death. Check-in at the hotel in Assisi.

DAY 5: ASSISI - ROME
This morning we will check-out from the hotel and begin exploring this small Umbrian town in central Italy best known as the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi — patron saint of Italy, founder of the Franciscan order and one of the most popular Catholic saints in history. Visit the 13th-century Basilica of St. Francis, as well as St Claire Basilica. After some free time for lunch, we will depart to Rome International Airport for departure flight.
