DAY 4: ONE DAY CRUISE TO THE SARONIC GULF ISLANDS (HYDRA, POROS & AEGINA)
Today we are offered the enjoyment of a cruise to three islands in just one-day, including a buffet lunch on board and round-trip transfers by bus.
We sail at 8:00 a.m. from Marina Flisvos. First stop is the picturesque island of Hydra, a fashionable artists' colony, retreat of intellectuals and a favorite film location. No cars are allowed on the island and the only mode of transport is donkeys! It features a crescent-shaped harbor, bustling with restaurants, shops, markets, and galleries ready for exploring. Steep stone streets lead up and outwards from the harbor area, making it prettier than a post card and a popular photo stop.
Following this stop, board the boat for a buffet lunch on board while continuing our voyage to Poros, where the first naval arsenal of independent Greece was established. Poros provides delightful scenery marked by the clock tower and the low pine-wooded hills. Our last port of call is Aegina, an attractive and tranquil resort place. Here we can either join the optional excursion to the Temple of Aphaia; one of the finest and the best preserved of the Greek temples, or walk leisurely around the harbour & browse in the small gift shops. Return back to the port in the early evening around 7:00 p.m. Transfer back to the hotel for dinner & overnight stay.
