Treasures of Israel, “In the steps of Jesus”

Day 1 – Tel Aviv arrival
Upon your arrival at Tel Aviv International Airport, a representative of Aristotle Travel will meet and assist you with your transfer to the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 2 – Caesarea, Mount Carmel, Megiddo, Nazareth, Cana, Sea of Galilee
The first day of the itinerary begins north of Tel Aviv, at the crusader city of Caesarea, an important site in Christian history, followed by a visit to Mount Carmel, the archaeological site of Megiddo, Nazareth, where Jesus was raised, and the biblical village of Cana. Afterwards the tour will head to the Sea of Galilee.

Day 3 – The Sea of Galilee, Tabgha, Kursi, Korazim, Yardenit
Today we enjoy a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, followed by a visit to Capernaum, the headquarters for Jesus' Galilean ministry. Following is an excursion to Tabgha, the traditional site of the Multiplication of the Loaves and the Fishes, passing Mount Beatitude to the ruins of Kursi, a Byzantine Monastery memorializing two of Jesus’ miracles, and Korazim, a small Jewish town mentioned in the New Testament. Before returning to the hotel at the Sea of Galilee, the tour will stop at Yardenit, a special place surrounded by Eucalyptus trees and Date palms, where Christian pilgrims come from all corners of the earth to be baptized.

Day 4 – Ancient Boat, Hazor, Tel Dan, Caesarea Phillipi, Golan Heights, Mt Bental
The tour continues today with a visit to the Ancient Boat, recovered from the Sea of Galilee and dating from the 1st century, claimed by Christian faithfuls to be the boat from which Jesus preached in the book of Matthew. Following are tours of the archaeological sites of Hazor, Tel Dan and Caesarea Phillipi which is located in the Golan Heights. . The tour then continues with a stop at Mount Bental and on the way you pass by the Nimrod Fortress before returning to the hotel at the Sea of Galilee.

Day 5 – Beith Shean, Beit Alfa, Harod Spring, Jerusalem/Dead Sea
First stop on the tour today is a Depart to Massada, site of Herod’s temple, continuing to Ein-Gedi, an oasis on the western shore of the Dead Sea and one of the most important archaeological sites in the Judean Desert. Following is a visit to Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were found. Afterwards, you can spend the afternoon swimming and floating in the therapeutic waters of the Dead Sea, known for their high mineral content and healing powers.

Day 6 – Jerusalem
This morning is devoted to sites in and around Jerusalem, starting with the Mount of Olives, a site of many important biblical events, followed by the chapel of Domimus Flevit (latin for “the Lord Wept”). Continue to Gethsemane, the place where Jesus Christ suffered the Agony and was taken prisoner, the Church of All Nations, the Pool of Bethesda (where Jesus performed one of his many miracles). Visit the Old City of Jerusalem, starting with the Ecce Homo Arch and continuing with a walk on the Via Dolorosa, the path of Jesus on the day of his crucifixion. We start from the first station, where he was condemned by Pontius Pilate, proceeding to the final station, where he was laid in his tomb.

Day 7 – The Dead Sea
Depart to Massada, site of Herod’s temple, continuing to Ein-Gedi, an oasis on the western shore of the Dead Sea and one of the most important archaeological sites in the Judean Desert. Day 8 – Jerusalem
Today’s journey includes a tour of the New City of Jerusalem, beginning with a visit to the model of the Second Temple, followed by a visit to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Memorial Museum and the Israel Museum. Continue visiting Mount Zion, the site of the Last Supper, King David’s tomb and the church of St. Peter in Gallicantu.

Day 9 – Jerusalem
The tour of Jerusalem continues today with a visit to the Jewish Quarter in the Old City of Jerusalem, followed by a tour including the First Temple Institute, the Southern Wall Steps, the City of David and the Garden Tomb, considered the be the burial place of Jesus Christ.

Day 10 – Tel Aviv departure
Transfer to Tel Aviv International Airport for departure flight.
