DAY 1: ROME (CATACOMBS, APPIAN WAY, CIRCUS MAXIMUS)
Arrival at Rome International Airport Fiumicino, meet our local rep and begin your sightseeing tour. We first visit the Catacombs (San Callisto, Santa Domitilla, San Sebastiano) the burial tunnels of Rome’s early Christians. We explore tunnels and see the carvings on the walls from early Christians. We will then travel a short distance along the Appian Way (Via Appia Antica) with a stop at the church of Domine Quo Vadis, the same road that the Apostle Paul traveled as a prisoner entering Rome. Check-in at the hotel, followed by dinner & overnight.

Important: the visits scheduled on this day may change according to your flight arrival time.

DAY 2: ROME (ST. PETER’S SQUARE, TRE FONTANE ABBEY, BASILICA OF ST. PAUL OUTSIDE THE WALLS)
Our first visit today is to the ornate Vatican Museums including the famous Sistine Chapel with Michelangelo’s magnificent ceiling.
Our next stop is the Basilica of St. Peter, the largest church in the world, which overlooks the enormous St. Peter’s Square, the site where Peter was crucified upside-down.
Free time for lunch. Afterwards we visit Tres Fontane Abbey, the traditional location where the Apostle Paul was martyred outside the walls of Rome.
Here we will have a special fellowship. Afterwards, we proceed to visit the Church of St. Paul’s Outside The Walls. Tradition points to this location where Paul is buried, about 2 miles from
Tres Fontane Abbey. Return back to the hotel for dinner & overnight.
2
DAY 3: ROME (ST. PAUL ALLA REGOLA, ROMAN FORUM, MAMERTINE PRISON, COLOSSEUM, CIRCUS MAXIMUS)
Today we visit St. Paul alla Regola dedicated to Paul, honoring the place where he lived for two years under guard in his own house and where the apostle “welcomed all who came to see him. He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!” (Acts 28:30-31). The Regola district was near the water and “regola” was the measurement system where the Jewish people made sails and curtains – a logical place for a tentmaker to make his home.
We continue with the Mamertine Prison, where Paul was imprisoned (Acts 27-28) and wrote to Timothy.
Free time for lunch.
Visit the Roman Forum and see the Arch of Titus, which boasts of Rome’s victory over Jerusalem.
We’ll see the Basilica of Julia which may well have been the place where Paul was tried and condemned to death and the Colosseum, where gladiators fought. Back to the hotel for dinner & overnight.
